Mandatory requirements exist within documents published under Procedures and Work Instructions.

Where alternative interpretations occur, the Manager Track & Civil Standards shall be informed so the ambiguity can be removed. Pending removal of the ambiguity the interpretation with the safest outcome shall be adopted.

The documents that are published in the above sub-sections are track and civil specific.

ARTC is progressively working to adopt uniform standards across its network. Simultaneously, ARTC is reviewing and revising document definitions, hierarchy and numbering. Until this is fully achieved there are various document types such as Standards, Code of Practice, Procedures, Manuals etc that have been categorised as per the proposed hierarchy. The proposed document hierarchy and definitions are described on the Help page.

The State in which the document is applicable is shown in the Applicability table.

Refer to the All Disciplines, Waivers, Type Approvals and Work Method Statements sections for track and civil related documents.

Where reference is made to a Civil Engineering Representative (CER), please refer to ARTC Civil Engineering Representatives.

Track and Civil documents are published in the order detailed below. The detail code groups particular infrastructure elements together and the document category is based on the life cycle of the infrastructure.
